Google has launched a new subscription plan called AI Plus. This plan is designed to give users easier and more affordable access to Google’s AI tools. AI Plus is a middle-level plan, positioned between the free version of Google AI tools and the premium AI Pro membership.
The goal of this subscription is to provide advanced features at a lower cost so more users can benefit from Google’s AI capabilities without paying for the highest tier.
Features of AI Plus
AI Plus offers many features that improve the user experience compared to the free plan. One of the main highlights is access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model, which is more advanced than the AI available in the free plan.
Subscribers also get the Veo 3 Fast video generation tool, which helps users create videos quickly. This makes AI Plus suitable for both personal and professional use.
Enhanced AI Capabilities
AI Plus provides enhanced AI capabilities with a 128K token context window for the Gemini AI model. This is four times larger than the 32K token limit available in the free plan. A larger token window means the AI can handle more data and provide better results in tasks like text generation, summarization, and coding.
Workspace Integration
AI Plus subscribers can also access the Gemini side panel in Google Workspace apps, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, and Drive. This makes it easier to use AI tools while working on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, and files.
Additionally, AI Plus includes tools like Whisk, which converts images into videos, and Flow, which is used for video editing. These features make it convenient for users to create content directly within Google apps.
Cloud Storage Benefits
Another important feature of AI Plus is 200GB of cloud storage. This storage is shared across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. Users can store large files, AI-generated content, and videos without worrying about running out of space.
Availability and Pricing
Currently, the AI Plus subscription is only available in Indonesia, priced at IDR 75,000 per month (around Rs. 400). Google is offering a 50% discount for the first six months for new users.
For comparison, Google’s AI Ultra plan in India costs Rs. 24,500 per month, while the AI Pro plan is priced at Rs. 1,950 per month. This shows that AI Plus is a more budget-friendly option for those who do not need all features of the top-tier plans.
Global AI Expansion
Earlier this year, Google introduced AI Mode in India, which is now available in multiple languages including Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and Brazilian Portuguese. This shows Google’s commitment to expanding AI accessibility to different regions and languages.
The AI Plus plan builds on this initiative by offering practical tools for users who want to use AI in their daily work, educational projects, or creative tasks.
Benefits for Users
The AI Plus subscription is designed for a wide range of users. Students, professionals, and content creators can benefit from:
By offering these features, Google makes it easier for users to experiment with AI and apply it in real-life tasks.
Future Potential
Google’s AI Plus plan is an important step in making AI tools more accessible globally. The plan allows more people to explore AI without the high costs of premium plans. It also strengthens Google’s position in the growing AI market by providing tools for work, creativity, and learning.
With AI Plus, users can gradually scale their usage and later upgrade to AI Pro or Ultra if they need even more advanced capabilities. This tiered approach ensures that AI technology is available to a broader audience.
Google’s AI Plus subscription is a new, affordable way for users to access advanced AI tools like Gemini 2.5 Pro and Veo 3 Fast. With integrated Workspace features, cloud storage, and creative tools, AI Plus is designed to provide more capabilities than the free tier while keeping costs lower than the premium plans.
This new subscription is currently available in Indonesia, with potential for global expansion in the future. It represents Google’s continued commitment to making AI accessible, practical, and useful for everyday tasks, creativity, and professional work.
