The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) at Dubai South has announced a significant expansion of its Line Maintenance Units (LMUs). This initiative aims to provide enhanced support to airside operators, including Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), allowing them direct access to their clients and streamlining aviation operations across Dubai.
Total LMUs and Coverage Area
With this expansion, MBRAH now has a total of 11 LMUs, covering a combined area of 76,000 square feet. The additional units are designed to serve the growing needs of the aviation community, providing a comprehensive infrastructure for line maintenance, engineering support, and other aviation-related services.
Comprehensive Services for Aviation Industry
The LMUs are structured as a one-stop hub for aviation solutions. They include storage and maintenance warehouses, specialized tooling, engineering support, and a premium pilot rest area. The facilities also feature dedicated shaded parking, administrative offices, and several other amenities tailored to the operational requirements of airlines, FBOs, and aviation service providers.
Construction and Timeline
Construction of the expanded LMUs is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2026. The new units will further strengthen MBRAH’s ability to cater to the operational needs of international and regional aviation players, enhancing efficiency and service quality.
MBRAH Leadership Comments
Mohammad Al Falasi, Deputy CEO of MBRAH, commented on the development: “We have expanded our services to meet the strong demand from the aviation community for line maintenance support. This milestone underscores our commitment to developing a compelling product strategy and building a dynamic ecosystem that fulfills the aspirations of our valued clients. We will continue to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global leader in aviation.”
Global Connectivity and Free-Zone Advantages
MBRAH offers high-level connectivity for global aerospace players and serves as a free-zone destination for the world’s leading airlines, private jet companies, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers, and associated industries. This strategic positioning allows companies to access advanced facilities and streamlined operational support in a centralized location.
Training, Education, and Engineering Focus
In addition to maintenance and operational services, MBRAH hosts training and education campuses to develop future talent in aviation. The hub is designed to strengthen engineering industries and support Dubai’s vision of becoming a leading global aviation and aerospace hub.
The expansion of LMUs at MBRAH highlights Dubai’s commitment to offering world-class aviation infrastructure and services. By providing comprehensive solutions for airlines, FBOs, and other industry players, MBRAH continues to enhance the emirate’s reputation as a premier destination for aerospace innovation and operations.
