Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, attended the signing of a landmark agreement between Bahrain Airport Company and Valo Aviation. The agreement highlights Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to develop its private aviation sector, positioning it as a strategic part of the nation’s air transport system.
The signing was also attended by key officials, including Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group; Hussain Ahmed Rashid Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs; Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company; and Hanna Hakamo, CEO of Valo Aviation. The gathering reflected strong collaboration between government authorities and private aviation stakeholders.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla emphasized the strategic role of private aviation in attracting investors and diversifying Bahrain’s economy. He highlighted that advanced infrastructure is vital to reinforce Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) status as a regional hub for high-quality aviation services, supporting long-term growth and sustainability.
The agreement enables Valo Aviation to build a state-of-the-art 6,000-square-metre facility for VIP jets. This facility will provide maintenance, repair, and ground services for private aircraft, supporting Valo Aviation’s plans to expand its operations while maintaining sustainability standards in Bahrain.
Khalid Hussain Taqi highlighted that the partnership aligns with Gulf Air Group’s vision to position Bahrain as a regional center for premium air services. He noted that this development strengthens cooperation between the ministry and Gulf Air Group, ensuring sustainable infrastructure that meets growing market demand.
Hanna Hakamo described the agreement as a significant step for Valo Aviation, enabling the company to support modern business jets such as the Falcon 10X and Gulfstream G700. She expressed appreciation for the ministry and airport company’s support, confirming the firm’s dedication to sustainable investment and job creation in the aviation sector.
This partnership is expected to boost Bahrain’s private aviation industry, attract global investors, and create employment opportunities. It reflects the Kingdom’s broader strategy to enhance infrastructure, support economic diversification, and strengthen its position as a competitive aviation hub in the region.
The agreement emphasizes sustainable investment, combining modern facilities with environmentally conscious practices. Bahrain aims to create a safe, efficient, and technologically advanced environment for private aviation, promoting long-term growth and aligning with international standards for aviation excellence.
