Qatar is making history by hosting two major FIFA finals on consecutive days. The FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025™ is taking place today, 17 December, just 24 hours before the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™ Final. The country is showing its ability to host multiple mega-sporting events at the same time.

In the Intercontinental Cup Final, European champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will face Copa Libertadores winners CR Flamengo at the 40,000-seater Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. PSG is playing in this tournament for the first time after winning the UEFA Champions League, beating Inter Milan 5-0 to claim their first European title. Their season was celebrated for exciting football and strong performances.

Arriving in Qatar, PSG brings a star-studded lineup including Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé and Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi. Fans from Qatar and around the world are expected to watch the French side compete for the title of the best club in 2025.

CR Flamengo has also had a successful week, winning the FIFA Derby of the Americas Qatar 2025™ against Cruz Azul of Mexico and the FIFA Challenger Cup Qatar 2025™ against Egypt’s Pyramids FC. The team now aims to be crowned the ultimate continental champion.

The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, which will host today’s final, previously held the FIFA Derby of the Americas and FIFA Challenger Cup matches. The venue is ready to welcome thousands of fans to witness the historic back-to-back finals.
