Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will attend the GOAT India Tour event in Telangana, featuring football legend Lionel Messi, at the RGI Cricket Stadium on Saturday evening. The event will include a short friendly match between two teams, Singareni RR9 and Aparna-Messi All Stars, each playing for 15–20 minutes. Five minutes before the match, the Chief Minister, a known football fan, will join Messi to dribble the ball together.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to arrive on a special flight at 4.30 PM and will stay briefly at the Taj Falaknuma Palace Hotel, where Messi will be accommodated. After watching the game, he will return to the national capital by 10.30 PM.
The Telangana government has made extensive security arrangements for the event at the stadium. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu confirmed that around 3,000 personnel will be deployed to ensure safety and smooth management of the event.
The match is expected to attract football fans and dignitaries, making it a high-profile gathering. Organizers have planned for controlled entry, crowd management, and emergency support.
