Saudi Shura Council Speaker Begins Official Visit to Pakistan

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, arrived in Islamabad to begin an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. His visit comes at the invitation of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly. This visit aims to further strengthen parliamentary ties between the two brotherly nations and explore new ways to enhance cooperation in governance, legislation, and mutual development.

High-Level Delegation for Strategic Talks

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh is leading a senior delegation from the Shura Council. The team includes several council members and officials responsible for inter-parliamentary coordination. During the visit, the Saudi delegation will participate in a series of official meetings designed to exchange experiences in lawmaking, oversight, and policy development. The visit also seeks to expand parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries, which share strong cultural, religious, and economic bonds.

Meeting with Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker

A key highlight of the visit will be official discussions between Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh and Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the National Assembly in Islamabad. Both sides are expected to review parliamentary relations and discuss ways to increase cooperation in legislative matters. The meeting will also focus on strengthening coordination between the Saudi Shura Council and the Pakistani Parliament in international forums, especially those that deal with Muslim world issues and regional peace.

Discussions on Regional and Global Issues

The visit provides a platform to address key regional developments affecting both nations. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan share common views on many international matters, including the promotion of peace, stability, and sustainable development in the Islamic world. The two leaders are expected to exchange perspectives on combating extremism, fostering economic resilience, and enhancing cooperation through multilateral organizations such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Expanding Economic and Social Cooperation

In addition to parliamentary collaboration, both sides will discuss the role of legislative bodies in supporting economic partnerships. Saudi Arabia is one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners, and the visit seeks to build stronger links through legislative support and business-friendly policies. Cultural exchange and educational collaboration are also expected to be on the agenda, highlighting the people-to-people connection between the two nations.

Symbol of Deep and Historic Friendship

The visit symbolizes the deep-rooted and historic friendship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, built on shared faith and mutual respect. Over the years, both nations have supported each other in political, economic, and humanitarian fields. The Shura Council and the National Assembly have played a crucial role in maintaining this partnership by engaging in frequent dialogue and joint initiatives.

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh’s visit underlines the importance Saudi Arabia places on strengthening ties with Pakistan at all levels. Through dialogue and cooperation, both countries aim to enhance their strategic partnership in the years ahead. The discussions held during this visit are expected to open new chapters in legislative collaboration, policy alignment, and people-centered diplomacy between Riyadh and Islamabad.
