Shura Council Takes Part in Arab Parliament Plenary in Cairo

The Shura Council took part in the plenary session of the Arab Parliament held at the General Secretariat headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The Shura Council delegation was represented by HE Amina bint Youssef Al Jaidah, HE Nasser bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, HE Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Matar Al Kuwari, and HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kaabi. All of them are members of both the Shura Council and the Arab Parliament.

Key Discussions and Agenda Outcomes

During the session, members reviewed the results of meetings held by the Arab Parliament’s standing committees. Several draft resolutions and recommendations were approved on important issues listed in the agenda.

The session also addressed the issue of Iranian aggression and reaffirmed the rejection of any interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries. In addition, members reviewed statements related to developments in Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Lebanon.

Participation in Standing Committees

The Qatari delegation also actively participated in meetings of the Arab Parliament’s four standing committees, which include:

  • Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee
  • Economic and Financial Affairs Committee
  • Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee
  • Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee

These committees discussed a wide range of political, economic, legislative, and social matters. Key topics included recent developments in the Arab region, strengthening preventive parliamentary diplomacy, artificial intelligence, support for the Palestinian economy, consumer protection, human rights, and other related issues.
