The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood met with Türkiye’s Zero Waste Foundation to enhance cooperation on environmental initiatives. The discussion focused on empowering children and youth to participate actively in sustainability and nature conservation programs. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Global Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul.
Al Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council, and Samed Ağırbaş, President of Türkiye’s Zero Waste Foundation, explored ways to collaborate on developing sustainable and innovative solutions to global waste challenges. The goal is to turn waste into energy and adopt environmentally friendly approaches that can serve as international models.
Al Falasi stressed the importance of initiatives led by children and youth to ensure a safer future. She highlighted the need to encourage young people to represent their countries in international forums, helping to raise awareness about sustainability and environmental protection.
The Supreme Council reaffirmed its commitment to building strong partnerships with international institutions focused on sustainability. Al Falasi highlighted the Zero Waste Foundation’s achievements and its potential to contribute to collaborative programs that promote environmental education and conservation.
Samed Ağırbaş expressed Türkiye’s dedication to cooperating with the Supreme Council in initiatives promoting sustainability. He emphasized investing in projects that enhance youth awareness and engagement in environmental protection, fostering a culture of responsibility and innovation.
Both sides agreed that raising awareness among children and youth is critical for long-term sustainability. Joint projects and youth-led initiatives allow young generations to adopt eco-friendly practices, contributing to national and global environmental goals.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to expand bilateral cooperation, strengthen youth involvement in sustainability programs, and develop innovative environmental solutions. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued efforts to achieve lasting and meaningful results in protecting the environment.
