The Al Awabi Charity Team, which works closely with the Ministry of Social Development, along with the Zakat Committee of Wilayat Al Awabi, which operates under the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, has taken a big step forward to support those in need.
A special event was recently organized to launch a new charitable platform aimed at making the donation process smoother for citizens and residents alike. The event was held under the patronage of Engineer Masoud Said Al Hashmi, Governor of South Al Batinah. It was attended by several high-ranking officials and representatives from various government organizations, showing strong support for this meaningful initiative.
Sultan Said Al Rawahi, who leads the Al Awabi Charity Team, explained the purpose of the new platform. He said that this digital platform will help people donate more easily and safely. Whether someone wants to give money, food, or other forms of assistance, the new system will ensure that their help reaches the right people in need—quickly and transparently.
According to Al Rawahi, the platform was designed to improve how donations are collected and distributed. This will help the charity team and the Zakat Committee reach more families and individuals who truly need help, especially in times of crisis or difficulty. He stressed that the platform saves time and builds trust in the donation process, as donors can be confident their contributions are being used properly.
More importantly, this effort represents the actual spirit of Omani society: unity, compassion, and mutual assistance. The platform encourages everyone to participate in charity, no matter how big or small, and help develop a more caring and connected community.
With modern technology now playing an important role in daily life, this approach is viewed as a positive step toward making charity work more successful and inclusive. Both groups, the Al Awabi Charity Team and the Zakat Committee, feel that by collaborating and implementing innovative solutions, they can make a greater difference in people's lives.
This initiative is a proud example of how public service, religious values, and social responsibility can come together to help those most in need. It invites everyone in the Wilayat and beyond to participate in creating a stronger support system for vulnerable members of society.
