A recall has been initiated for various Pizza Pops found throughout Canada due to potential contamination with E. coli O26, which has led to a countrywide advisory from Health Canada.

This recall includes four types of Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza Pops produced by Pillsbury. Health authorities strongly advise against the consumption, sale, serving, or distribution of these products.

As per Health Canada, the items affected are distributed nationwide and could pose serious health risks, even if there are no visible signs of spoilage.

In severe situations, infections could result in seizures, strokes, kidney failure, or lasting kidney damage. Some individuals might require blood transfusions or dialysis, and, in rare cases, the infection can be fatal.

Guidance for Consumers

Customers who bought the recalled Pizza Pops should dispose of them promptly or return them to the purchase location. Those experiencing symptoms after consuming these snacks are encouraged to seek medical help.

Health Canada is actively monitoring the situation and advises the public to remain vigilant regarding food recall alerts to safeguard their health.
