Dhurandhar has become the monumental success story that Bollywood has been yearning for in 2025, following a promising start with Chhaava. With incredible box office numbers and an increase in public interest, the film has grossed a staggering Rs 1006.7 crore globally in just 21 days, eclipsing several previous records.
On its 21st day, the film raked in Rs 26 crore, even surpassing its opening day collection of Rs 28 crore—a remarkable achievement in the current film landscape. Domestically, Dhurandhar has accumulated Rs 668.80 crore, maintaining an impressive occupancy rate of 50% on its 21st day, a rise from the 33.81% it registered on opening day across Indian theaters.
Despite a minor reduction in screens, with 4,753 available on Day 21, Dhurandhar continues to capture audience interest, even with strong competition from new releases like Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which debuted with a 32.67% occupancy rate across 3,000 shows.
Ranveer Singh’s powerful performance is celebrated as a triumphant return, drawing comparisons to his former acclaimed roles in Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna's standout moments and viral dance have also made waves on social media, enhancing the film's popularity. Dhurandhar has surpassed Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 in lifetime earnings, solidifying its position as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
Additionally, it now stands as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film worldwide, overtaking Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
Though met with some critiques labeling it as “well-made propaganda,” this scrutiny hasn’t hindered its commercial triumph.
Under the direction of Aditya Dhar, the film showcases a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Jointly produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is gearing up for a sequel, with its release scheduled for March 19, confirming its role as a cornerstone of Bollywood.
