Streaming Alert: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Lands on Netflix

Post by : Meena Hassan

The romantic thriller Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, is set to premiere on Netflix on December 16, 2025. Initially released in theaters on October 21, coinciding with the Diwali celebrations, the film quickly captivated audiences and became the 12th highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. Its upcoming streaming debut promises to extend its reach to a wider audience drawn to stories that explore complicated relationships and themes of passionate, obsessive love.

Under the direction of Milap Zaveri, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mushtaq Shiekh, the narrative delves into love's darker aspects, illustrating how obsession and desire can distort the boundaries between affection and control. The film takes a deep dive into themes of possessiveness, emotional trauma, heartbreak, and the perilous outcomes of unchecked devotion. Rather than presenting love as nurturing or idealistic, it demonstrates how it can become a destructive force fueled by ego and entitlement.

The story centers around Vikramaditya Bhonsle, portrayed by Harshvardhan Rane, a powerful politician whose obsession with the renowned actress Adaa Randhawa, played by Sonam Bajwa, escalates dangerously after she turns down his advances. What begins as intense courtship soon transforms into a worrying fixation, intensified by privilege, injured pride, and an overwhelming need for control. As Vikramaditya's fixation deepens, Adaa finds herself pushed to her limits, compelling her to take drastic actions for her protection. The film vividly explores toxic love and dominance against a backdrop of political power and emotional manipulation, revealing how obsession can easily morph into a weapon rather than a gesture of love.

Produced by Anshul Rajendra Garg and Dinesh Jain under the Desi Movies Factory banner, the film showcases cinematography by Nigam Bomzan and a score composed by John Stewart Eduri, with contributions from Ariyan Mehedi. The supporting cast, including Rajesh Khera, Sachin Khedekar, Shaad Randhawa, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, delivers gripping performances that elevate the emotional intensity and stakes of the film.

As the Netflix release approaches, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is poised to ignite new conversations regarding toxic masculinity, celebrity harassment, and the troubling romanticization of obsession, positioning it as one of the most anticipated releases of the season.
