Field Marshal Asim Munir Receives Prestigious Award from Saudi Arabia

The Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has been honoured with Saudi Arabia’s prestigious King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence. The award was presented during his official visit to the nation in December 2025.

This honour was bestowed upon him by Royal Decree from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, marking it as the highest civilian accolade offered in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi leaders commended Field Marshal Munir for his strategic vision and professionalism, underlining his efforts to reinforce the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Field Marshal Munir expressed his sincere gratitude towards the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi authorities for this distinction. He highlighted that the award symbolizes the robust and lasting relationship between the two nations.

During his visit, Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to ensuring Saudi Arabia's security, stability, and prosperity, as he engaged in discussions with Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Defence.

The discussions focused on several shared interests, such as regional security, military collaborations, defence strategies, and other important strategic matters. This highlighted the significance of the strong Pakistan-Saudi relations and their commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability.

This accolade is a testament to Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership and contributions, further solidifying the historical ties that exist between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, showcasing mutual trust and camaraderie.
