New Delhi:
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has been named in newly released documents linked to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, which include unverified allegations related to his personal conduct.
The claims appear in draft emails dated July 18, 2013, allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein on behalf of Gates’ longtime science adviser, Boris Nikolic. The documents suggest that Gates sought medical assistance after alleged sexual encounters with women described as “Russian girls.”
According to the draft emails, Epstein claimed he helped Gates obtain antibiotics to deal with the alleged consequences of these encounters. The documents further allege that Gates asked Epstein to secretly arrange antibiotics for his then-wife, Melinda French Gates, without her knowledge, and requested deletion of emails referring to the alleged condition.
One draft email accuses Gates of attempting to remove records related to the incident to avoid damage to his public image. The message claims Gates urged Epstein to delete correspondence mentioning the alleged sexually transmitted disease.
These allegations surfaced after the US Justice Department released a large collection of Epstein-related records, including millions of pages of documents, videos, and images, as part of its investigation into the late financier.
A spokesperson for Bill Gates strongly denied the claims, calling them “absolutely absurd and completely false.” The spokesperson stated that the documents reflect Epstein’s frustration over not maintaining a relationship with Gates and accused Epstein of attempting to defame him.
The document release also includes references to several high-profile figures from politics, business, and entertainment. Being named in the files does not indicate wrongdoing.
Jeffrey Epstein died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide.
