In a delightful moment during their recent summit, Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung came together for a spirited drum session featuring popular K-pop tracks. This memorable musical exchange, shared by the Japanese Prime Minister's office, highlighted their enjoyment of hits from renowned artists like BTS and K-pop Demon Hunters.

Prime Minister Takaichi, a known drumming enthusiast, praised President Lee's quick grasp of the beat, noting how he picked it up in mere minutes. Their shared laughter and efforts to sync their drumming rhythms underlined the warm rapport they share, symbolizing their commitment to foster a forward-looking partnership between Japan and South Korea.

President Lee took to social media to express his excitement, emphasizing the friendship and promise of collaboration. Despite their differing drum tempos, he highlighted their determination to align their efforts towards building a stronger relationship, pledging to work “with one heart.”

This cheerful interaction signifies ongoing efforts to mend ties that have historically faced challenges. During the summit, both leaders also discussed enhancing security and economic cooperation amidst growing regional pressures in East Asia. Their discussions centered on “shuttle diplomacy,” with plans for the Prime Minister to visit South Korea soon to further these conversations.

Additionally, the leaders visited the historic Horyuji Temple in Nara, Japan, Takaichi's hometown, further illustrating the deepening goodwill between them.
