Tragic Loss: Two Sisters in Lucknow Die Amid Pet's Illness

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A heartbreaking event occurred in Lucknow, where two sisters in their early twenties reportedly died, with authorities suspecting suicide linked to emotional distress regarding their ailing pet dog.

The deceased, aged 22 and 24, had a deep emotional connection to their German Shepherd, which had suffered from health issues for an extended period. Despite receiving treatment, the dog's condition continued to decline, causing significant distress to the sisters.

Their mother informed police that both daughters had previously encountered mental health challenges, rendering them especially susceptible to emotional turmoil. She noted how the potential loss of their beloved pet weighed heavily on them.

On Thursday morning, around 11 a.m., the mother asked them to go grocery shopping. Upon their return, both girls reportedly collapsed. They were rushed to a local hospital, where the elder sister was pronounced dead upon arrival. The younger sister fought for her life but ultimately passed away later that evening.

Doctors believe poisoning may be the cause of their deaths. A preliminary search in their room uncovered a household chemical, prompting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

Para Police Station Inspector Suresh Singh confirmed the case, noting the apparent link between the sisters’ emotional distress and their pet's health issues. Following post-mortem examinations, the bodies were returned to the family, with legal proceedings underway.

Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to clarify the details of the incident and eliminate any other possible causes. This heartbreaking case underscores the critical need for mental health awareness and timely emotional support for young people grappling with loss and psychological challenges.
