Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted Bill Gates, Co-Founder of Microsoft and Chair of the Gates Foundation, as part of the “MoFA Dialogues: Voices of Influence” series. During the session, he spoke about how innovation and technology can shape a better future and highlighted his global philanthropic work in health, education, and agriculture. The conversation was moderated by Badr Jafar, the Special Envoy for Business and Philanthropy.

The MoFA Dialogues initiative brings together leading global thinkers and experts to share ideas on important topics that matter to the UAE and the world. The sessions aim to exchange perspectives on regional and international developments, foreign policy, artificial intelligence, economic growth, and investment trends. It also serves as a platform for discussing future opportunities and challenges across different sectors.

The UAE continues to invest heavily in emerging industries, particularly advanced technology and AI, reflecting its long-term vision for a stronger and more prosperous future. The government has already approved more than 40 national projects, laws, and agreements to attract top talent, companies, and major investments. These steps support the UAE’s goal of becoming a global hub for technology and innovation over the next two decades.

The country’s firm commitment to AI, supported by national initiatives and strategic global partnerships, highlights its ambition to strengthen its role as a worldwide leader in technological progress. The UAE believes that building strong foundations in advanced tech will create new opportunities for youth and future generations, ensuring long-term growth, development, and global competitiveness.
