Qatar Red Crescent Launches Emergency Aid for Venezuela Quakes

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched an emergency humanitarian response to support people affected by two powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela. The disaster included magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes in northwestern and central regions of the country.

The response is being carried out in coordination with Qatari government authorities, as well as international Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations.

Emergency Coordination and Situation Monitoring

Shortly after the earthquakes, QRCS activated its Disaster Information Management Center (DIMC). The center began collecting real-time updates on the humanitarian situation and maintained close coordination with the Venezuelan Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
