Sharjah Executive Council Greenlights 2026 Budget Plan

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) on Tuesday morning at the Ruler’s Office.

Present at the meeting were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, along with His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who also serves as Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council.

During this session, the Executive Council approved the draft general budget for the Sharjah government departments for 2026. This proposed budget emphasizes the government's ongoing dedication to improving institutional performance, efficient public spending, and enhancing service quality for the community.

It details anticipated revenues and expenses across significant governmental sectors, focusing on effective planning, measurable performance indicators, and sustainable financial management. The budget is structured to support development priorities while ensuring resources are allocated to initiatives that benefit Sharjah's residents, citizens, and visitors.

The Council has also agreed to forward the draft budget to the Sharjah Consultative Council for further discussion as part of the legislative process required prior to its final approval.

Additionally, the Executive Council reviewed the functionalities of government departments and entities throughout 2025. This review assessed strategic goal achievements, evaluated outcomes, and examined proposed plans for 2026. This assessment aims to enhance government services continuously and align future programs with Sharjah’s development objectives and community needs.
