PETALING JAYA: A teenager aged 16 was sadly killed at SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4) on Monday morning after being repeatedly stabbed by a 14-year-old peer, confirmed by police.
The police chief of Petaling Jaya, Shamsudin Mamat, mentioned that two sharp items believed to be involved in the attack have been secured by authorities. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed during the incident.
The reason behind the stabbing is still being explored. Authorities have indicated that, as of now, there is no indication of bullying being a factor.
The incident reportedly took place in a girls' restroom at the school. Shamsudin noted at a press conference outside the school, “A teacher heard a scream and attempted to get help, but by then the incident had occurred.”
The 14-year-old suspect, also enrolled at SMK Bandar Utama, is expected to be remanded at the Petaling Jaya magistrates' court tomorrow. “The two individuals were acquainted, but they may not have been friends,” Shamsudin added. Investigations are ongoing, with statements being collected from teachers and classmates of the victim to gain further insight.
The body of the victim has been transported to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for forensic examination. Investigators are diligently looking into this unfortunate incident at the school.
