Dhaka Capitals' assistant coach, Mahbub Ali Zaki, met with a tragic demise on Saturday, just before the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) face-off against Rajshahi Warriors in Sylhet. The 59-year-old coach experienced a sudden collapse during the warm-up, leaving the team and onlookers in disbelief.
Medical reports confirm that Zaki suffered a heart attack while on the field, prompting immediate transport to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite swift medical intervention, he could not be revived. News of his passing reached the stadium post-match commencement, leaving players, officials, and supporters in deep sorrow.
Known for his dedication to Bangladesh cricket, Mahbub Ali Zaki was a revered mentor, especially in the development of fast bowlers. His significant influence in honing cricketing talent earned him admiration from players and colleagues alike.
