The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is stepping up its tourism drive with a wide range of luxury entertainment and cultural projects. These projects are designed to attract global visitors, enhance the country’s competitiveness, and increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy. From theme parks and wellness resorts to cultural museums and waterfront developments, the UAE is building unique attractions that will make it a leading destination for international travelers.

Disney Resort To Open On Yas Island

One of the most exciting announcements of 2025 is the launch of the Disney Theme Park Resort project on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island. This will be the first new Disney destination in nearly ten years and the seventh worldwide. Expected to open in 2025, the resort will bring global attention to Abu Dhabi, placing it among the world’s top entertainment hubs. The project is set to combine Disney’s signature storytelling with Emirati hospitality, offering unforgettable experiences for visitors.

Saadiyat Cultural District Expands

Abu Dhabi is also advancing the Saadiyat Cultural District, which is becoming a global hub for art, history, and heritage. Major projects nearing completion include the Zayed National Museum, celebrating the UAE’s founding father; the Natural History Museum, showcasing global scientific wonders; the “teamLab Phenomena” digital art museum, bringing immersive technology-driven art; and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, which will host contemporary art collections. Together, these cultural landmarks will strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a center for knowledge and creativity.

Butterfly Gardens In Abu Dhabi

Another unique attraction in the UAE capital is the upcoming Butterfly Gardens. This immersive sanctuary will feature more than 10,000 butterflies within climate-controlled domes. It will be Abu Dhabi’s first dedicated butterfly garden, creating a family-friendly destination that highlights biodiversity and environmental awareness while providing a relaxing experience for visitors of all ages.

Dubai’s Therme Wellness Resort

Dubai is setting new global records with the launch of “Therme Dubai,” a wellness resort and interactive park to be built in Zabeel Park. Scheduled to open in 2028, it will be the largest facility of its kind in the world and the first in the Middle East. The AED2 billion project will span 500,000 square feet and feature a Michelin-star restaurant, three 18-metre waterfalls, and indoor and terrace pools covering 4,500 square meters. Designed to welcome up to 1.7 million visitors annually, Therme Dubai will position the emirate as a leader in health and wellness tourism.

Mushrif Hub And Outdoor Adventures

Dubai is also enhancing its outdoor and adventure tourism offerings. The “Mushrif Hub” project at Mushrif National Park will include the longest mountain bike track in the emirate. This project will attract adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts, creating opportunities for sustainable recreation and eco-tourism within Dubai’s natural landscape.

Sharjah’s Cultural And Eco Projects

In Sharjah, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is working on unique cultural and eco-tourism projects. The Kalba Rock Art Centre, located at the UAE’s largest and richest rock-art site, is being developed to preserve heritage while attracting researchers and visitors. Alongside this, the Kalba Beach project and the “Nomad” initiative, which introduces new hiking trails, will add to Sharjah’s reputation as a cultural and eco-tourism destination.

Umm Al Quwain’s Waterfront Expansion

Umm Al Quwain is moving forward with “Downtown Umm Al Quwain,” a 25 million square foot waterfront development. The project will stretch along 11 kilometers of coastline, offering modern residential, retail, and leisure facilities. In addition, the emirate is launching “Luxeglamp,” an eco-friendly luxury camping site within its Mangrove Reserve, and expanding the Creek Waterfront project with its second phase. These projects highlight Umm Al Quwain’s focus on sustainable tourism and natural attractions.

Ras Al Khaimah’s Luxury Hotels And Resorts

Ras Al Khaimah continues to strengthen its tourism industry with new high-end hospitality projects. Al Marjan Island is welcoming several new hotels, including NH Collection, Fairmont, Taj Wellington Mews, and a Four Seasons resort. The centerpiece remains the Wynn Al Marjan Island resort, featuring 1,500 rooms, tropical gardens, expansive lagoons, and pools across 3.6 hectares. This project is expected to attract global travelers seeking luxury and entertainment in one destination.

Fujairah’s Avani+ Fujairah Resort

Fujairah is also part of the UAE’s tourism growth. Minor Hotels has signed the Avani+ Fujairah Resort, a 232-room beachfront property with 16 private villas overlooking the Gulf of Oman. This resort, set to open in 2028, will enhance Fujairah’s appeal as a seaside holiday destination while complementing its reputation for natural landscapes and outdoor adventure.

A Unified Tourism Vision

Together, these projects across the UAE highlight a unified vision to transform the country into one of the world’s top destinations for tourism, culture, wellness, and luxury. By combining heritage with modern attractions, and sustainability with global-scale developments, the UAE is ensuring that its tourism sector will remain a major driver of economic growth and international recognition in the years to come.
