WAMY Doctors Provide Free Treatment And Surgeries In Tanzania

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth has launched its seventh medical convoy on Pemba Island in Tanzania as part of its ongoing humanitarian work. The initiative aims to provide advanced healthcare services to vulnerable communities that have limited access to specialized medical treatment.

The medical convoy plans to carry out nearly 250 surgical operations in different specialties. These include adult and pediatric urology, orthopedics, general surgery and pediatric surgery. The program is designed to help meet urgent healthcare needs and reduce the burden on local medical facilities.

The mission, which will continue until December 27, includes a team of more than 15 surgeons and five expert anesthesiology consultants from Saudi Arabia. These medical professionals are volunteering their time and skills to deliver high-quality surgical care and treatment to patients in need.

Dr. Ayman Al-Sulaimani, head of the convoy and a urology consultant at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah, said the initiative plays a vital role in easing patients’ suffering and addressing serious medical conditions. He highlighted that such efforts improve access to specialized surgeries for people who otherwise may not receive timely treatment.

Dr. Al-Sulaimani also praised Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian role in Africa, noting that medical and relief missions like this one strengthen healthcare systems and provide essential support to communities facing medical challenges.
