Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, continues to dominate the Indian box office with record-breaking collections. The film’s gripping storyline and songs like Akshaye Khanna’s viral FA9LA dance have captured audience attention. Another hit from the movie is the dance number Shararat, performed by Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, which has become a fan favourite.
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly recently revealed that Tamannaah Bhatia was originally suggested for Shararat, but director Aditya Dhar decided against having just one star. Vijay explained that Aditya wanted the song to support the story, not distract from it. “If it was Tamannaah, the attention would have been on her, not the story. That’s why there are two dancers instead of one,” he said.
The song takes place during a wedding scene and complements the film’s narrative without overshadowing the main plot. Vijay added that the film had a lot happening, and the song needed to remain part of the story rather than act as a separate “item number.”
Ayesha Khan shared behind-the-scenes pictures, expressing her excitement about being part of Dhurandhar. She praised Aditya Dhar’s world-building and storytelling, saying viewers get completely immersed in the characters and setting. Krystle D’Souza also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love from fans, sharing that her inbox is full of dance covers, reels, and screenshots.
Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is inspired by real-life covert RAW operations, especially those related to Operation Lyari. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, along with Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Part 2 of Dhurandhar is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
At the global box office, the film has earned over ₹800 crore, with ₹555.5 crore from India alone. Dhurandhar has entered the top ten highest-grossing Indian films, surpassing Animal, and continues to draw audiences even with James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire & Ash now in theatres.
