MENA Biofuels Partners with Evertree to Launch SAF in Fujairah

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant development for sustainable energy, Fujairah is on track to become the UAE's pioneering center for large-scale Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This follows an innovative partnership unveiled by MENA Biofuels and Evertree during ADIPEC 2025. This collaboration is a critical step in supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 initiative and aligns seamlessly with the SAF Roadmap 2030.

As part of their new Feedstock MoU, Evertree will provide MENA Biofuels with waste products like used cooking oil to convert into low-carbon aviation fuel. This arrangement guarantees a sustainable supply chain for SAF, promoting a circular economy within the UAE.

MENA Biofuels Chairman, Mohamed Saeed Al Raqbani, remarked that this agreement establishes a strong foundation for a comprehensive SAF ecosystem. “Our partnership, from sourcing sustainable materials to producing certified SAF, underlines our dedication to the UAE’s clean energy goals,” he stated.

This venture also enhances the localization of SAF production, positioning the UAE as a competitive force in the renewable fuel market. Gati Al Jebouri, CEO of MENA Biofuels, pointed out that dependable and sustainable SAF supply chains are essential for industry growth.

Anita Lao, Co-Founder of Evertree, expressed that converting waste into valuable aviation fuel not only aids the UAE's climate objectives but also supports a global transition to responsible energy.

This partnership sets the stage for Fujairah to become a key regional hub for SAF, fostering low-carbon advancements and fortifying the UAE's leadership in sustainable aviation fuel.
